About the Sponsorship Program
Those of you who have been involved with the BRBB for some time will know that our budget relies heavily on fundraising. To cover budgeted expenses, we need to raise $30,000. Annually, that is. Over the years, our fundraising efforts have included many different types of product sales and events, all of which require considerable time and effort.
We use the Sponsorship Request Letter to reach out to friends, family members, and area businesses, asking for their support. To succeed, we need the help of every marching band family. Our goal for the program is to raise at least $150 in sponsorships or donations per band member. Some students may raise more and some may raise less, but working together we are confident we can achieve the overall goal.
The students will receive a sheet of five mailing labels at Mini Band Camp on Thursday, August 9.
We ask each band member to come to the first day of Band Camp – Monday, August 13 – with at least five names and addresses (personal or business) written on these labels. These labels will then be used in a mass mailing that the students will work on that day.
Please take a few minutes now to consider who—friends, family members, colleagues—will respond to a request for support. Think carefully about who you can include in this mailing campaign. Students, don’t be afraid to include your grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and even your parents! Parents, please reach out to any area businesses you may have a connection with and ask for their support.
It takes your volunteer time and the support of many to make our program successful. Thank you in advance for your participation in making the SAHS Big Red Marching Band a program we can all be proud of.
